The comedy film 'Mastiii 4' starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani is facing a decline in box office performance. On its ninth day, the film collected a mere Rs. 19 lakhs, marking a new low. This comes as no surprise, given the release of other films like 'Tere Ishq Mein' and 'Gustakh Ishq'.
'Mastiii 4' follows three husbands who, frustrated with their mundane marriages, concoct a devious plan that takes them on unexpected adventures. While it started strong, earning Rs. 2.75 crores in the first two days and Rs. 3 crores on Sunday, the film's momentum has been waning. By Monday, it had already dropped to Rs. 1.16 crores, and by Thursday, it was down to Rs. 1 crore. The latest estimates suggest that 'Mastiii 4' might continue to struggle, with Friday and Saturday projections looking grim. Despite this, the film has managed to accumulate a total of Rs. 14.24 crores in two weeks of its release in India.
Interestingly, 'Mastiii 4' faced competition from '120 Bahadur,' a patriotic film based on the 1962 India-China war. '120 Bahadur' starring Farhan Akhtar has performed better, earning Rs. 75 lakhs on its ninth day. The film's tax-free status in Delhi and Rajasthan has made it more accessible to audiences.
The release of 'Tere Ishq Mein,' a romantic musical starring Kriti Sanon and Dhanush, and 'Gustakh Ishq,' featuring Vijay Verma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, further impacted 'Mastiii 4's' performance. While 'Tere Ishq Mein' made over Rs. 30 crore in two days, 'Gustakh Ishq' has yet to reach the Rs. 1 crore mark.
