Get ready for a thrilling sequel as Charades, the Paris-based international sales powerhouse, gears up for a big push at the European Film Market (EFM) with the highly anticipated 'In a Violent Nature 2'. This follow-up to the 2024 horror hit, 'In a Violent Nature', is set to deliver even more blood-curdling thrills and iconic moments. The original film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, quickly became a cult favorite, thanks to its theatrical release by Independent Film Company and Shudder. Now, the sequel is set to continue the legacy, with a fresh vision and an even more intense narrative. The story picks up with Ry Barrett returning as Johnny, a vengeful, undead killer, who embarks on a bloody rampage after a group of teens steal a golden locket that awakens his spirit. This time, Johnny's path leads him to a summer camp, where he encounters a young outcast camper, forcing him to spend a night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party. The cast includes Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr., and Evan Marsh, promising a diverse and captivating ensemble. Chris Nash takes the reins as the writer, with Peter Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, and Michael James Regan as producers, alongside co-producer Liane Cunje. The film's announcement at San Diego Comic-Con and its solid reviews from Sundance have generated high expectations. Charades' co-founders, Carole Baraton, Pierre Mazars, and Yohann Comte, shared their enthusiasm, stating, 'In a Violent Nature 2' will be a first feature with more kills, more blood, and hopefully even more iconic moments.' Kuplowsky added, 'With this sequel, fans can expect an exponential increase in ultraviolence with a distinct hook, while still paying homage to the storied slasher traditions.' Charades will also be showcasing other exciting titles at the EFM, including Kiyoshi Kurosawa's period drama 'Kokurojo: The Samurai and the Prisoner', Louis Paxton's debut feature 'The Incomer', and Yoshitoshi Shinomiya's 'A New Dawn', which is set to compete at the Berlinale. These diverse offerings showcase Charades' commitment to delivering a range of compelling content to audiences worldwide.
