If you’ve been hoping for Google’s affordable A-series entry in the Pixel 10 lineup, the wait is over. The Pixel 10a starts at $679 in Canada (US$499 in the United States), positioning it as a practical alternative to the flagship Pixel 10 for those watching their wallet. It’s only a modest step down from the base model, which keeps it appealing for budget-minded shoppers who still crave the Pixel’s software strengths.
Design-wise, the 10a features a flat back with a camera bar that integrates seamlessly, making it easy to slip in and out of a pocket or rest flat on a surface. It marks a notable sustainability push for Google, using a high proportion of recycled materials: cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten are featured in its composition. The chassis is a satin-finish, 100% recycled aluminum frame, paired with an 81% recycled plastic back cover.
Color options are Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian. The phone is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance and sports an upgraded Corning Gorilla Glass 7i cover glass on the display. The 6.3-inch Actua display is roughly 11% brighter than the Pixel 9a, and the device supports faster charging up to 30W when paired with Google's 45W USB-C charger, delivering more than 30 hours of battery life in typical use. In Extreme Battery Saver mode, endurance can stretch to around 120 hours.
Photography remains a Pixel strong suit: a 48MP main camera pairs with a 13MP ultra-wide lens, offering features such as macro focus and Night Sight. You’ll still enjoy the Pixel photography toolbox, including Auto Best Take and Camera Coach. For group snaps, Add Me helps with both small and large gatherings, and Quick Share supports cross-platform sharing, including AirDrop with iPhone users.
Under the hood, the 10a runs on Google’s Tensor G4 chip, unlocking access to Gemini and the ability to use tools like Gemini Live for natural, interactive conversations. Creative enhancements include Nano Banana for photo reimagining, image blending, and applying various styles. AI-powered tools such as Circle to Search help you learn more about items on your screen with a simple circle, tap, or highlight. Dialer conveniences include Call Screen and Hold For Me to streamline calls.
Pre-orders for the Pixel 10a open at $679, with official shipping starting March 5, 2026. Cases will be offered in Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian to match the device, and Google is expanding its ecosystem with Pixel Buds 2a in Berry and Fog hues. As with other Pixel models, the 10a will come with seven years of OS updates.
In comparison, the Pixel 10 upgrades to a more powerful G5 processor, extra RAM, Pixelsnap wireless charging, and an additional telephoto lens. It does, however, feature a smaller battery and a lower-resolution front camera.
