Telugu film Akhanda 2 demonstrated a surprisingly solid second day, bringing in roughly Rs. 17 crore at the Indian box office. This elevates its two-day domestic total to around Rs. 50 crore. Internationally, it has earned about USD 1.05 million (roughly Rs. 9.50 crore), culminating in an estimated worldwide gross of Rs. 60 crore.
The performance is notable because the film received a mixed reception, and this kind of release is usually frontloaded. Given that, a steep fall on day two was anticipated, but the film held up well, dipping only about 50 percent from opening day. While that drop might seem large, it’s fairly common for Telugu releases, where opening-day momentum dominates.
The movie’s strong showing across the Telugu states helped, with the Nizam region continuing to be the strongest market for the film. This is somewhat unusual for NBK-led projects, which typically perform better in Ceded districts, while Nizam often lags. Recently, Nizam has shown improvement, though the IP value and positive reception of the original have clearly aided performance here. Despite the solid hold, considerable work remains to satisfy investors.
